Naruto Mythos TCG 2nd Edition Gets Release Dates — And Two Gold Cards

Right, this is interesting. Naruto Mythos TCG is doing something we've never seen before — they're releasing a proper 2nd edition of their first set, complete with new Gold cards and different packaging. And they've just dropped the official release dates.

Originally planned for April, the 2nd Edition of Konoha Shidō has been pushed back slightly, but for good reason. The publisher, CICABOOM, wanted to make sure they got it right. Fair play to them.

What's Coming and When

Here's the updated release schedule that's just been confirmed:

    • Naruto Mythos 2nd Edition Booster Display — 26th June 2026
    • 2nd Edition Special Pack (Itachi/Kisame) — 17th July 2026
    • 2nd Edition Team Set — 17th July 2026

The timing actually works out quite well. It gives everyone who grabbed the 1st edition a decent window to enjoy their cards before the 2nd wave hits.

Two Brand-New Gold Cards (Including Rock Lee)

Here's where it gets properly exciting. The 2nd edition isn't just a reprint — it's getting two completely different Gold cards. We know one of them is Rock Lee, which is going to make a lot of fans very happy.

The image shows what we can expect from the packaging and card quality. That Rock Lee Gold card looks absolutely stunning — the detail work is incredible, and you can see why they've positioned these as premium collectibles.

What's clever about this approach is that collectors get genuinely new content, not just reprints. The alternative Secret Rare numbered cards will also be different, so there's real incentive to pick up both editions.

How 2nd Edition Will Be Different

CICABOOM has been clear about making the 2nd edition distinct:

    • Unique "2nd Edition" stamp on all cards
    • Different packaging for Display Boxes and Booster Packs
    • Alternative Secret Rare numbered cards
    • Those two new Gold cards we mentioned

It's a smart way to handle reprints. Instead of just flooding the market with identical products, they're creating something that feels fresh while still making the cards more accessible.

Why This Matters for Players and Collectors

This is genuinely innovative for the TCG world. Most games either do straight reprints or move on to the next set entirely. Naruto Mythos is finding a middle ground that serves both collectors (who want exclusive content) and players (who want accessible cards).

The fact that they're calling it limited again suggests this won't be an endless print run either. So if you missed out on the 1st edition launch back in March, this is your chance to get in — but probably not your last chance forever.

For those looking to dive into the Naruto universe, our Naruto Mythos TCG collection has everything you need to get started, with more 2nd edition products coming as soon as they're available.

What's Next for Naruto Mythos

The publisher has confirmed they're already working on sets 2 and 3, with more details coming in the next few weeks. It sounds like they're building something substantial here, not just cashing in on the licence.

The official announcement mentions they're happy with the feedback from fans so far, which suggests the game mechanics are landing well alongside the obvious appeal of the artwork.

Honestly? This feels like a TCG that's actually listening to its community. The delay to get the 2nd edition right, the effort to make it distinct rather than just a cash grab, the transparency about future plans — it all points to a publisher that's in this for the long haul.

What do you reckon? Are you tempted by those Gold cards, or are you holding out to see what sets 2 and 3 bring to the table?
