More about Pokémon TCG: Mega Evolution Series - Singles
The current era, and the one still being printed. Mega Evolution opened on 26 September 2025 with ME1 and has moved fast since: Phantasmal Flames in November, Ascended Heroes at the end of January 2026, Perfect Order in March, Chaos Rising in May, Pitch Black in July. Around 1,700 singles from those sets sit here.
What are the chase cards?
Mega ex cards are the mechanical centrepiece, and the rarity ladder carries over from Scarlet & Violet unchanged: Double Rares, full-art Ultra Rares, Illustration Rares, Special Illustration Rares, gold Hyper Rares at the top. The SIRs are where the money goes. Mega Charizard X ex from Phantasmal Flames and Mega Gengar ex from Ascended Heroes are the two we get asked about most.
Should you buy now or wait?
Because these sets are current, prices move week to week rather than year to year, and usually downward for a few months after release as supply catches up. If you're building a deck rather than a binder, that's an argument for buying the playable cards now and sitting on your hands over the chase art.
Individual sets are split out in the singles index. Sealed boxes and ETBs for the same sets are in Pokémon sealed, and anything not out yet is in pre-orders.
Common questions
Which Mega Evolution sets have released so far?
ME1 Mega Evolution (26 September 2025), Phantasmal Flames (November 2025), Ascended Heroes (late January 2026), Perfect Order (March 2026), Chaos Rising (May 2026) and Pitch Black (July 2026).
Do prices drop after a set releases?
Usually, for a few months, as supply catches up with the launch rush. It tends to hit the playable cards hardest; the top-end chase art holds up better.
