A graded card already lives in a case, so protecting the case sounds paranoid right up until the first time a slab slides off a shelf. Corners chip, surfaces scratch, and a scuffed holder takes real money off resale even when the card inside is untouched. The fix costs about £9.
The one rule of slab protection: match the case to the grading company. Slabs are not a standard size. A PSA case will not fit an Ace slab, a CGC slab is thicker than a PSA, and forcing the wrong case is how holders crack. Everything here says clearly which slabs it fits; believe the label, not the guesswork.
