More about Accessories

Nobody gets excited about buying sleeves. But the difference between a Near Mint card and a Lightly Played one is usually a few pence of protection applied at the right moment, so this is quietly the most important collection on the site.

What should you actually buy?

The core stack every UK collector settles on: penny sleeves as the first layer on everything, toploaders for anything worth a coffee, and team bags to seal the lot for storage or postage. It's exactly how we pack your singles, and it's why "well packaged" is the most-used phrase in our reviews. For binder collectors, double-sleeving with exact-fit inners keeps edges clean, and side-loading binders beat ring binders for anything you value.

What do you need for a grading submission?

Semi-rigid holders are what Ace and PSA want submissions to arrive in; toploaders are actually the wrong tool for that job. Stock up here, then take 5% off your submission with code CE via our Ace Grading page.

Brands we carry are the ones we'd use ourselves: Vault X (the strongest UK-native brand and terrific value), Ultra Pro, Gamegenic and Ultimate Guard. For slabs rather than raw cards, protection lives in its own corner: graded card protection, including GradedGuard cases.

Common questions

Penny sleeve or toploader first?

Both, in that order. The penny sleeve goes on the card, then the sleeved card goes into the toploader. Sliding a bare card into a toploader is how edges get dinged.

Can I send cards for grading in a toploader?

No, Ace and PSA both want semi-rigid holders for submissions. Toploaders are for storage and postage, not grading intake.
