The Spiritforged set is on the horizon, and the Riftbound meta is still very much up in the air. Without a fully developed competitive environment, much of the early discussion naturally leans toward theorycrafting and identifying which designs could shape future play.
The folks at Runes & Rift recently dropped their analysis of ten standout cards from the new set. These aren't definitive rankings, but early predictions based on raw power, unique effects, and potential interactions.
Draven's Fury Returns
Draven Vanquisher looks like a proper powerhouse on paper. This four-energy unit generates an exhausted gold token when winning combat, plus he's got attack and defend triggers that let him recycle fury runes for +2 might.

That effectively makes him a four-cost drop with six might in combat situations. Pair him with gear like Spinning Axe and Long Sword, and those equipment costs become negligible thanks to all that gold generation.
Don't Sleep on the Poro
Plundering Poro might look innocent, but this two-drop could be genuinely scary. Generate an exhausted gold token after conquering a battlefield? That's enabler territory.
The real spice comes from turn one plays. Drop this early, and you're looking at some nasty interactions. Cast Falling Star for zero power on turn three with Kai'Sa's legend ability and that gold token. An already oppressive spell becomes even stronger.

There's also a cheeky Bard interaction — exhaust your legend on turn three to move all units to open battlefields, letting your Poro potentially conquer again for another gold token.
Purple's Power Play
Vex represents Riot's clear push to make purple meta-relevant, and her ability is genuinely terrifying. When she's in combat, opponent spells cost +1 energy and +1 power, while yours cost -1 energy and -1 power.

Think about that for a second. Your opponent is effectively playing with fewer resources than they actually have, while you're getting discounts. If they can't deal with Vex before showdown, they're in for a rough time.
The Predictions Game
What makes these early evaluations interesting is how they're purely theoretical. Real gameplay will be the final judge of whether cards like Ezreal Prodigy, Fizz, and The Zero Drive live up to their potential.
The beauty of a developing meta is that today's theory could be tomorrow's meme deck. But these standout cards definitely have the raw power and unique effects to shake things up.
If you're looking to test some of these theories yourself, we've got Riftbound products ready to go. Just remember — until players start putting these cards through their paces, it's all educated guesswork.
Which of these predictions do you think will age the best? And what sleeper hits do you reckon everyone's missed?
