November 20, 2025 — The Pokémon Company International has officially revealed the next major expansion for the Pokémon Trading Card Game: Mega Evolution—Ascended Heroes, launching January 30, 2026 at retailers worldwide.
Inspired by the newly released Pokémon Legends: Z-A video game, this expansion brings fresh characters, iconic locations, and long-awaited returns of Mega Evolution to the TCG. Trainers will see the debut of brand-new Mega Evolution Pokémon ex — including Mega Dragonite ex — alongside updated versions of returning favourites, all featuring new artwork.
New Rarity: Mega Attack Rare
Mega Evolution—Ascended Heroes marks the introduction of a brand-new card rarity: Mega attack rare, showcasing attack names written in Japanese katakana. This rarity was first teased at the 2025 Pokémon World Championships.

Digital Release
Players can jump in early via Pokémon TCG Live on January 29, 2026, available on iOS, Android, macOS, and Windows. The expansion will be playable digitally one day before the physical release, with Mega Evolution Pokémon ex and in-game login bonuses included.
