The Pokémon TCG Valentine's Box is the first Valentine's Day product the Pokémon Trading Card Game has made. Inside are 20 three-card Collect & Share booster packs to hand out, To/From label stickers for each pack, three sheets of decorating stickers, and an inner box that turns into a mailbox for collecting valentines. Pikachu, Jigglypuff and Sylveon are on the front. A UK release date hasn't been announced yet.

What's in the Pokémon TCG Valentine's Box?

The full name on the box is "Valentine's Box with Collect & Share Booster Packs". The contents list on the back is short:

There's no promo card, coin or main-set booster pack in the list. That tells you who it's for: this is a box for sharing Pokémon cards with friends and classmates, the way people swap valentines, rather than a box for collectors chasing a hit.

02 · How it works

How does the Valentine's Box work?

Every pack already has a printed "To: You, From: Me" label on the front, and the sticker sheets give you blank To/From labels to write on. The idea is simple:

1Write your labelsFill in a To/From sticker for each friend and stick it on a pack.
2Hand out the packsEach pack is a small valentine with three Pokémon TCG cards inside.
3Build the mailboxTake out the inner box. It has a posting slot in the top, so it becomes a mailbox for the valentines you get back.
4Decorate itThree sheets of stickers (Pikachu, Sylveon, Jigglypuff, Luvdisc, hearts and Poké Balls) are there to make the mailbox your own.

03 · The cards

Which cards are in the Collect & Share packs?

Pokémon hasn't shown the card list yet. Each pack says "3 additional game cards", and the packs aren't from a named expansion, so they're a mini-pack product of their own. We expect the list to be shown nearer release.

The closest product to compare it with is Trick or Trade, the Halloween bundle of three-card packs. Its packs held themed reprints with a special Pikachu stamp, so stamped, love-themed reprints would be the natural fit here. Until the cards are shown, treat that as a guess, not a fact.

Collector noteIf the Valentine's packs follow Trick or Trade, the stamped cards are what collectors will chase: a stamp is the only thing that tells a seasonal reprint apart from the original. We'll add the full card list to this page as soon as it's out.

04 · Release date

When is the Valentine's Box out in the UK?

No UK release date has been announced. The Valentine's Box isn't listed with the UK distributor yet, and no UK shop has opened pre-orders. It's planned for the new year, ahead of Valentine's Day on 14 February.

The best guide is Trick or Trade, which came out in the UK on the same day as North America in both 2023 and 2024, through hobby shops and big high-street retailers. If the Valentine's Box follows that pattern, it should reach UK shelves in time for 14 February. We'll confirm the date here, and in our UK Pokémon TCG release calendar, as soon as it's set.

Our take

A lovely idea, and not really one for the binder. Twenty small packs with name labels and a mailbox is a classroom valentines kit, and a good one: it puts real Pokémon cards in children's hands on 14 February instead of a paper card.

For collectors, everything hangs on the card list. If the packs carry a Valentine's stamp, expect the stamped Pikachu and Sylveon to be the ones people hunt down. If they're plain reprints, this is a gift product first and a collectible second.
