More about Destined Rivals Expansion

Destined Rivals is the Team Rocket set, and it did something the Pokémon TCG had mostly stopped doing: it gave the villains their own cards. SV10 landed on 30 May 2025 with Team Rocket's Mewtwo ex, Team Rocket's Moltres ex and Team Rocket's Crobat ex, and it brought back Trainer's Pokémon properly, so Cynthia's Garchomp ex and Ethan's Ho-Oh ex sit alongside them.

That naming convention matters more than it sounds. A Trainer's Pokémon can be searched and supported by its own trainer card, which is why Ethan's Adventure ended up a card people actually play rather than a bulk supporter, and why the set has held its price better than most Scarlet & Violet releases.

It's a big set and it was printed heavily. That's the honest bit. Outside the Team Rocket ex cards and Cynthia's Garchomp, most of Destined Rivals is cheap and will stay cheap. If you want the set, buy the six or seven cards that matter and leave the rest, or pick the commons up at 50p and fill a binder for very little.
