Japanese Pokémon, which for us means two things: sealed Japanese boxes and packs, and a deep run of graded Japanese cards. Just over 300 products between them.

The sealed side is the pragmatic argument. Japanese booster boxes hold 30 packs rather than 36, cost noticeably less per pack than English, and release one to two months earlier, so they're where you first see what a set actually contains. Set codes differ (Mega Brave and Mega Symphonia became the English Mega Evolution set; Abyss Eye became Pitch Black), which trips people up, so check the contents rather than the name. Korean boxes mirror the Japanese releases at lower prices again, and those sit in their own collection.

The graded side is where it gets interesting. Japanese print quality is famously better centred than English, which is why Japanese cards grade well and why so many collectors buy the Japanese version of a card they already own in English. Every slab here has a cert you can check before you buy.
