Disney Lorcana Hyperia City: Release Date, Ink Drops and Coco

Hyperia City is the 14th Disney Lorcana set. Prereleases start on 16 October 2026 at game stores, and it's out everywhere on 23 October. It brings Pixar's Coco into Lorcana for the first time, adds a brand-new resource called ink drops, and drops the whole cast into a neon city of concerts, street musicians and late-night shops. There's trouble in the back alleys too.

Ravensburger showed the set in full at its Special Lorecast on 22 September and has been previewing cards since. Here's everything confirmed so far.

When does Lorcana Hyperia City come out in the UK?

Prereleases run from 16 October 2026 at participating game stores, and at select Disney Parks and stores. The set is out everywhere a week later, on 23 October 2026.

Welcome to Hyperia City

Ravensburger's pitch is a town "where metro meets the fantastical". Every card is set in one of the city's neighbourhoods: the City Center, Wandering Straits, Old Towne Hyperia and the Marigold District, where the Coco cast play their street performances. On the edge of town sits the Multidisciplinary Academy for Genius, Imagination, and Creativity (M.A.G.I.C. for short), where the Big Hero 6 crew are experimenting with ink drops.

Music runs through the whole set. Powerline, Gazelle and 4*Town headline the city's stadium. Somebody's also after the city's ink drop supply, and the location cards point at a suspect: Khan Industries is "Shere Khan's business headquarters, home to an ink drop empire", and the stadium carries his name too.

What are ink drops in Disney Lorcana?

Ink drops are the big new idea in Hyperia City, and Ravensburger says it deliberately built the set around this one mechanic. An ink drop is a piece of temporary ink. Each one is worth 1 ink, you can spend it to play a card or pay for an ability, and once you've used it, it's removed from the game. They're tracked as counters, not cards, so they never take a slot in your deck.

Making ink drops

Cards make them in different ways. Go Go Tomago, Extreme Tester gets you 1 whenever she's challenged, which makes her awkward to attack. Tadashi Hamada, Making Waves makes 2 when he's banished. The song Higitus Figitus gets you 3 at once.

Spending them for extra effects

Some cards get better if you pay for them with a drop. Jousting Match deals 2 damage to a chosen character, or 5 if you removed an ink drop to play it. Madam Mim, Resourceful Trickster is the 8-cost payoff: use a drop to play her and you draw 2 cards, and once per turn she draws you another whenever you remove an ink drop. Other cards just want a drop in play: Wasabi, Called into Battle gets +2 strength while you have one.

What does Adventurous do?

Adventurous: this character can't challenge and must quest if able.

On your own characters it's a drawback that usually comes with a big body or a strong ability attached, as on the Iconic Mickey Mouse, Best in Town. The interesting part is that you can hand it to someone else. Whenever Nick Wilde, Inquisitive Harbormaster quests, you can give a chosen character Adventurous until the start of your next turn. Point that at your opponent's best challenger and it can't attack for a turn, and has to quest into whatever you've got waiting.

Judy and Nick are on the case this set, investigating where all the ink drops are coming from. Judy Hopps, Day Camp Instructor is a 2-cost Support character that can put the top card of your deck into your inkwell if you've already played another character that turn: classic Sapphire ramp in a cheap package.

Coco comes to Lorcana

This is Coco's first time in Lorcana, and the Rivera family arrive with their songs. The Coco cards are spread across Amber, Amethyst and Ruby, and they share two themes: songs, and remembering. Many get stronger when you have a song card in your discard, or when your discard pile reaches 10 cards.

• Miguel Rivera, Street Musician: while you have a song card in your discard, he gets +1 lore and becomes a Singer 3.
• Héctor Rivera, Street Musician: a Singer 2 that can put the top card of your deck into your discard when you play him.
• Héctor Rivera, Gone to Pieces: a Singer 6 that gets +1 lore and Evasive while you have a song card in your discard.
• Pepita, Imelda's Right Hand: Shift 3, and +2 strength and +2 lore once you have 10 or more cards in your discard.
• Land of the Dead, Marigold Bridge: a location that gets +2 lore while you have 10 or more cards in your discard.

Songs include Un Poco Loco, Remember Me and Though I Have to Say Goodbye, and an Ernesto de la Cruz glimmer is around too, trying to steal the spotlight.

Princesses, pop stars and the rest of the cast

The princesses get city outfits and new jobs. Aurora, Delightful Musician brings a cheap song back from your discard to your hand, then gains you a lore at the end of any turn you played a song. Tiana, Party Hostess draws 2 and discards 1, and if the discard was a location she lets you play it for free. Cinderella, Unintentional Icon looks at the top two cards of your deck at the end of your turn and puts one into your inkwell: ink acceleration again, this time in Sapphire.

The concerts bring in Gazelle from Zootopia, Powerline, Max and Goofy from A Goofy Movie, and 4*Town from Turning Red. Big Hero 6 fill the M.A.G.I.C. academy (Honey Lemon, Go Go Tomago, Wasabi, Baymax and Tadashi), The Sword in the Stone gives us Arthur, Merlin and Madam Mim, and The Aristocats are out on the town.

Enchanted and Iconic: the cards to chase

This set's Enchanted cards all show the characters on a night out, with dramatic after-dark lighting: concerts, parties and late-night projects. They're numbered beyond the 204-card main set. These are the four shown so far:

Iconic

Iconic is Lorcana's rarest tier, and Hyperia City has two: Mickey Mouse, Best in Town, first shown at D23, and Cinderella, Unintentional Icon. Both carry the same night-out style as the Enchanted cards, and Mickey also carries the new Adventurous keyword.

Prereleases and organised play

Prereleases run from 16 October at participating game stores and select Disney Parks and stores. Every Prerelease Box comes with the same collectible this time, a map of the city, where earlier sets used random postcards and posters. At Set Championships, everyone who takes part gets Honey Lemon, Testing the Limits, the Top 8 get a foil version, and there's a Honey Lemon playmat for the winner. The new RPH promo set also includes Everyone Knows Juanita, Tramp, Quick on His Feet and Arthur, Novice Blacksmith for weekly play at Ravensburger Play Hub stores.
