01 · Release

When is Magnificent Maestros out, and what's in a box?

Konami's European site lists Magnificent Maestros for 12 November 2026. It's a premium box rather than a booster display: each tuckbox holds three foil-wrapped 5-card packs and three cellophane-wrapped bonus cards.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Magnificent Maestros tuckbox, product shot
Magnificent Maestros3 packs of 5 cards, plus 3 Secret Rares that can upgrade to Starlight Rare. See our listing
Yu-Gi-Oh! Magnificent Monsters tuckbox, product shot
Magnificent MonstersThe first box in the series, out 3 September 2026. See our listing
In every box What it is
3 foil-wrapped packs 5 cards each, one from each of Pools A to E. Every card in these packs is at least Ultra Rare
3 cellophane-wrapped cards One each from Pools 1, 2 and 3, as Secret Rare with a chance to upgrade to Starlight Rare
Grand Master Rare chance Only in Pool A, the slot that holds the 18 reimagined anime cards
The mathsBecause every pack takes one card from Pool A, every box gives you three of the 18 reimagined cards. Most will be the standard Ultra Rare; the extended art versions, the Starlight Rares and the Grand Master Rares all come out of that same slot.

02 · Grand Master Rares

How do Grand Master Rares work?

Grand Master Rares arrived with Magnificent Monsters and they're back for Maestros. Konami describes them as an extended art rarity with hieroglyphic borders, and each one carries a serial number from 001 to 100 instead of a normal card password.

18cards get a Grand Master Rare version
100copies of each card for European markets
1,800European Grand Master Rares in total
"E"at the end of the serial on European copies

Konami prints 100 of each card for the Americas and another 100 of each for every market supplied from Europe, which covers Europe, Oceania, Africa and the Middle East. The UK is in the European pool, so the copies opened here end in an "E". All Grand Master Rares are in English, but they can turn up in French, German, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish packs as well as English ones.

Look at the bottom left of each sample: the "xxx/100E" box is where the serial number goes. That's the quickest way to spot one in a pack, along with the hieroglyph pattern running round the card edge.

!Not every extended artOnly the 18 reimagined cards have Grand Master Rare versions. The six extended art reprints in the bonus cards do not, so a "Grand Master Rare" Blue-Eyes Toon Dragon or Witchcrafter card doesn't exist.

04 · Pull structure

Magnificent Maestros pack and Secret Rare breakdown

Konami published the slot charts for the box. Each foil-wrapped pack has one card from each of these five pools:

Pool What's in it Size Rarities
A The 18 reimagined anime cards. Usually standard art; any extended art pull comes from here 18 Ultra Rare; extended art Ultra Rare or Starlight Rare (plus the Grand Master Rares)
B 10 brand new cards and 10 new "chibi" variant arts 20 Ultra Rare
C Foil-ups: 40 cards never released as foils before 40 Ultra Rare
D New "Toon", "Witchcrafter" and "Unchained" cards, 7 for each 21 Ultra Rare
E Reprints 20 Ultra Rare

The three bonus cards each come from a different pool, all as Secret Rare with a chance to upgrade to Starlight Rare:

Bonus pool What's in it Size
1 The 7 "Toon" cards from Pool D and 6 of the new cards from Pool B, plus the 6 extended art reprints (Ultra Rare or Starlight Rare) 19
2 The 7 "Witchcrafter" cards from Pool D, 2 new cards and 5 chibi variant arts from Pool B 14
3 The 7 "Unchained" cards from Pool D, 2 new cards and 5 chibi variant arts from Pool B 14
Pull ratesKonami hasn't published Starlight Rare or Grand Master Rare odds. Anyone quoting a ratio before release is guessing.

05 · The rest of the box

Toon, Witchcrafter, Unchained and the first Dark Tuners

The big change from Magnificent Monsters is 21 extra new cards, seven each for "Toon", "Witchcrafter" and "Unchained" Decks, with one in every pack. The Toon cards bring Blue-Eyes Toon Ultimate Dragon, so Kaiba fans get a second Blue-Eyes to chase.

On top of that are ten more new cards based on the anime. Konami names three: the first ever "Dark Tuner" monsters from Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's, Chaos End Ruler - Master of the Beginning and End, which was seen but never played in ZEXAL, and Hyper Rank-Up-Magic Ultimate Force.

There are also ten new "chibi" variant arts. Konami's examples are Lovely Labrynth of the Silver Castle, Fallen of Albaz, Incredible Ecclesia, the Virtuous and Super Starslayer TY-PHON - Sky Crisis.

06 · Chase list

The Magnificent Maestros chase list

Here's how we'd rank the pulls, from the cards you'll frame to the ones you'll play. The order is our view, not Konami's.

1Grand Master Rares1,800 for the whole European region, each with its own serial. Blue-Eyes White Dragon, the White Phantom Beast is the one we expect most people to want, and low or meaningful serial numbers will matter to some collectors.
2Extended art Starlight Rares of the 18 reimagined cardsThe rarest version that isn't numbered, and from Chaos Origins onwards Starlight Rares carry Konami's new rainbow card border.
3The six extended art reprints in StarlightOnly in the bonus cards. Konami's samples show Blue-Eyes Toon Dragon, Witchcrafter Vice-Madame and Unchained Soul Lord of Yama.
4Starlight versions of the new Toon, Witchcrafter and Unchained cardsAny bonus Secret Rare can upgrade, and these are cards people will actually play.
5Chibi variant artsLovely Labrynth and Incredible Ecclesia in a cute style will find fans, and they can show up as Secret or Starlight Rares in the bonus cards.

The other three extended art reprints are expected to be Toon Dark Magician Girl, Witchcrafter Madame Verre and Unchained Abomination, but Konami hasn't shown those three yet.

08 · Our take

Is Magnificent Maestros worth it?

Our take

Buy it for the guaranteed cards, not the Grand Master Rare. 1,800 serial-numbered cards spread across every European, Oceanian, African and Middle Eastern box is a lottery ticket. What you can count on is three reimagined anime cards, three bonus Secret Rares and a card for Toon, Witchcrafter or Unchained in every pack.

For players the 21 new theme cards are the real value, and the Toon reprints help a Deck that's been pricey to build. For collectors, the extended art Starlight Rares of the Kaiba and Zane cards are the pulls we expect to hold their value best outside the numbered cards.

Worth it if
  • ✓You play Toon, Witchcrafter or Unchained: there's a new card for one of them in every pack
  • ✓You collect Blue-Eyes: between the White Phantom Beast and Blue-Eyes Toon Ultimate Dragon, Kaiba fans are well served
  • ✓You enjoyed Magnificent Monsters: same slot format, more cards per box worth having
Think twice if
  • ✕You only want one card: buy the single, as three Pool A cards per box from 18 is a lot of boxes for a specific one
  • ✕You're opening purely for a Grand Master Rare: the odds aren't published and the print run is tiny
