What is Ascended Heroes?

Ascended Heroes is the English special set between Phantasmal Flames and Perfect Order, code ME2.5, released on 30 January 2026. It is the largest set in the Mega Evolution era so far: 217 cards in the main set, numbered 001/217 to 217/217, with the secret rares running to 295/217. Counting every finish we list, that is 242 Commons, 179 Uncommons, 75 Rares, 39 Double Rares, 14 Ultra Rares, 33 Illustration Rares, 22 Special Illustration Rares and seven of the new Mega Attack Rares.

What is a Mega Attack Rare?

A rarity introduced in this set: a Mega Evolution ex card with a full-art treatment built around its attack, numbered among the secret rares. There are seven in Ascended Heroes and they sit alongside the Special Illustration Rares as the cards collectors chase.

Which Ascended Heroes cards do people chase?

Mega Gengar ex 284/217 first, then Mega Charizard Y ex 294/217 and Mega Dragonite ex, which appears at both 290/217 and 295/217. Pikachu ex has two secret rare prints of its own, 276/217 and 277/217. With 22 Special Illustration Rares in one set there is more chase than usual spread across more cards, which is part of why the set stays popular to open.

What sealed Ascended Heroes product exists?

As a special set, Ascended Heroes has no booster box. Packs come in the Elite Trainer Box (including a Pokémon Center edition), the six-pack booster bundle, single booster packs and the mini tins: Clefairy, Pikachu, Riolu, Togepi and Zorua, sold singly or as a sealed case of ten. If you want a lot of packs at once, the ETB and the bundle are the two efficient routes.
