More about Brilliant Stars Expansion

Brilliant Stars (SWSH9) released on 25 February 2022 and changed two things at once. VSTAR replaced VMAX as the era's top mechanic, and the Trainer Gallery subset appeared for the first time, giving every set that followed a small run of full-art character cards with their own numbering.

Arceus VSTAR is the box card and the deck that defined the format for most of 2022. The Charizard VSTAR Rainbow Rare is the collector piece, and the Trainer Gallery cards, especially the ones pairing trainers with their Pokémon, have aged into some of the most-wanted cards of the era.

It's a good set to buy into. Out of print, well liked, but never subject to the speculation that made Evolving Skies unaffordable. The TG subset on its own is thirty cards, which is a realistic weekend project rather than a year-long grind.

Singles are listed on their own in Brilliant Stars singles. Either side: Fusion Strike and Astral Radiance.
