More about Pitch Black Expansion
What is Pitch Black?
Pitch Black is the fifth English set in the Mega Evolution series, code ME5, released on 17 July 2026. It follows Chaos Rising and sits before the 30th Celebration set in the run. The main set is 84 cards, numbered 001/084 to 084/084, and the secret rares carry on to 120/084. In our own count that is 74 Commons, 52 Uncommons and 22 Rares once you include every finish, then 10 Double Rares, 18 Ultra Rares, 11 Illustration Rares and six Special Illustration Rares at the top.
Which Pitch Black cards do people chase?
Mega Darkrai ex, and it appears twice: 116/084 is the Special Illustration Rare and 120/084 is the gold Hyper Rare. They are different cards at very different prices, so check the number before you buy either. Behind Darkrai the set's other Mega ex cards carry it: Mega Zeraora ex 114/084 and Mega Chandelure ex 115/084 as Special Illustration Rares, with Mega Excadrill ex lower down the list. Morpeko ex 117/084 is the surprise of the set, a small Pokémon with a Special Illustration Rare that has held collectors' attention, and Gwynn 119/084 is the Supporter people want in full art.
What sealed Pitch Black product exists?
Pitch Black had a full main-set line-up: the 36-pack booster box and an 18-pack half box, the six-pack booster bundle, the Elite Trainer Box with its nine packs and promo, the Build & Battle Box, single and sleeved booster packs, a three-pack blister with a Binacle promo, a checklane blister with Slowpoke and premium checklane blisters with Gengar and Luxray. Each product page lists its own contents. If you want packs by the box, the booster box is the straightforward buy; if you want the sleeves, dice and promo, the ETB.
How we sell Pitch Black singles
Every single is Near Mint unless the listing says otherwise, sleeved and in a toploader for the post, with the set, number, rarity and finish in the card details. Graded copies show their grader, grade and certificate number. Order before noon on a working day and it leaves the same day.
