More about Rebel Clash Expansion

Rebel Clash, SWSH2, released 1 May 2020 into a country that had just been locked down, which is part of why so many people's collections start here. It's the second set of the Sword & Shield era and one of the largest at 192 cards before secrets.

Toxtricity VMAX is the box-art card and still the one most people picture. Boltund V, Drednaw VMAX and the Rainbow Rares fill out the top end, and none of it is expensive. That's the appeal: a big, complete-feeling set from the start of the modern era that costs less to finish than one Illustration Rare from a current release.

Worth knowing if you're buying to complete rather than to flip: early Sword & Shield print runs were long, so scarcity is not the issue here. Condition is. Five-year-old cards have usually lived in a binder, and finding genuinely Near Mint copies of the commons is harder than finding the VMAXes.
