More about Pokémon TCG: 151 - Singles
151 singles, set code MEW, released 22 September 2023. A special set covering the original Kanto Pokédex, and one of the most popular English sets ever printed.
The appeal is straightforward: every one of the first 151 Pokémon gets a card, in Pokédex order, so the main set reads like the Red and Blue Pokédex. That makes it the rare modern set people genuinely try to complete number by number rather than cherry-picking chase cards, and it means the cheap end of this page matters as much as the top.
At the top, the Kanto starters carry it: Charizard ex at 199/165, Venusaur ex at 198/165 and Blastoise ex at 200/165, with Zapdos ex at 202/165 behind them. The illustration rares through the 160s and 170s are where most of the collecting happens.
One caveat worth having. 151 has been reprinted repeatedly and stayed available far longer than a normal set, so prices on everything except the Charizard have softened. That is good news if you are completing it and less good if you bought sealed at release.
The era as a whole is in Scarlet & Violet singles. Either side: Obsidian Flames and Paradox Rift.
