For most people, Star Trek Play Boosters are the buy: they're what you play with, and they can still hold LCARS shock lands, Classic Enterprise cards and stardates reprints. Collector Boosters are for chasing the seven signed Headliner cards and surge foils. The Bundle and Beam Me Up Bundle are the gift options, Draft Night is a game night in a box, and the Scene Boxes are for display. Here's exactly what's in each, from Wizards of the Coast, and who it suits.

Star Trek Play Boosters: what's inside

Play Boosters are the main pack. They're built to be drafted and played with, and Wizards lists each one as:
| Slot | Cards |
|---|---|
| Commons | 7 (in 1 of every 25 packs, a stardates card replaces one) |
| Uncommons | 3 |
| Wildcard | 1, any rarity |
| Traditional foil | 1, any rarity |
| Rare or mythic rare | 1 |
| Land | 1 |
| Double-sided token | 1, non-foil |
The nice surprise is how much Booster Fun can turn up in them. Non-foil and traditional foil versions of the LCARS frame cards, the ten LCARS shock lands and the Classic Enterprise cards are all in Play Boosters, along with the 25 borderless scene cards and non-foil stardates reprints.

Star Trek Collector Boosters: what's inside

Collector Boosters are mostly foils and special treatments. Wizards lists each pack as:
| Slot | Cards |
|---|---|
| Traditional foil commons | 5 |
| Traditional foil uncommons | 3 |
| Foil uncommon or common | 1 |
| Traditional foil basic land | 1 |
| Traditional foil rare or mythic | 1 |
| Non-foil extended-art rare or mythic | 1 |
| Rare or mythic Booster Fun cards | 2 |
| Foil rare or mythic Booster Fun card | 1 |
| Art card or foil double-sided token | 1 |
That's five rares or mythics per pack, three of them Booster Fun. And several things only come in Collector Boosters:
- Signed Headliner cards: seven different, about 250 copies of each, hand-signed by the actor who played the character. They can be in Collector Boosters of any language, but the card is always English.
- Surge foil LCARS frame cards, LCARS shock lands and Classic Enterprise cards.
- Traditional foil stardates reprints, like Sheoldred, the Apocalypse as Khan, Engineered Evil.
- Non-foil versions of the Scene Box scene cards, for anyone who wants the scenes without the boxes.

Star Trek Bundle vs Beam Me Up Bundle

| Bundle | Beam Me Up Bundle | |

| Play Boosters | 9 | 8 |
| Collector Boosters | 0 | 1 |
| Basic lands | 15 foil + 15 non-foil (5 full-art in each) | 15 foil + 15 non-foil (5 full-art in each) |
| Promo cards | 1 traditional foil promo | 2 of 8 traditional foil Spacecraft promos |
| Extras | 2 reference cards, oversized spindown, storage box | 2 reference cards, oversized spindown, storage box |
The Beam Me Up Bundle swaps one Play Booster for a Collector Booster and adds a second promo. Its promos are eight Spacecraft cards drawn as ship schematics, and you get two of the eight in each box.

Star Trek Draft Night and Scene Boxes

Draft Night
Draft Night is a self-contained kit for a four-player Pick-Two Draft. Inside: 12 Play Boosters, 1 Collector Booster, 90 non-foil basic lands, 10 double-sided tokens and a draft insert. Everything four people need for the night is in one box.
Scene Boxes
Each Scene Box has 3 Play Boosters, 6 traditional foil borderless scene cards that join into one picture, 6 art cards and a display easel. Enterprise-Q shows Q causing chaos on the Enterprise bridge; Divergent Timeline shows the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise with Kirk taking the captain's chair. The six foil scene cards are new to Magic and only come foil in these boxes.
We stock Scene Boxes from earlier sets in our Scene Boxes collection.
06 · Our advice
Which Star Trek product should you buy?
| If you... | Buy |
|---|---|
| Want to play, draft or build decks | Play Boosters, or a Play Booster box to share |
| Want the signed cards and surge foils | Collector Boosters (but buy singles for a specific card) |
| Are buying a gift for a Trek fan | Beam Me Up Bundle |
| Are buying a gift for a Magic player | Bundle, or a Commander deck if they play Commander |
| Are hosting three friends | Draft Night |
| Want something for the shelf | A Scene Box |
| Are new to Magic | A Commander deck or the Welcome Decks at your local store (the Beginner Box was cancelled) |
Our take
Play Boosters are the sensible buy for almost everyone. With all ten shock lands in LCARS frames and the Classic Enterprise and scene cards in the mix, they're not the dull option they used to be.
Collector Boosters are a luxury. The Headliners are a brilliant idea, but at about 250 copies each worldwide you're far more likely to open a surge foil than a signature. If you love Star Trek and want one pack of everything, the Beam Me Up Bundle is the neatest way to do it.
